Cheat’s Gourmet Sausage Rolls

- 2-3 sheets Puff pastry
- 1 kg Sausages
- 2 Eggs
- Sesame seeds, (optional)
- Baking dish with baking paper
- Pastry brush (or can use fingers)
Preheat oven to 180C.
Crack eggs and a pinch of salt into a bowl and whisk.
Separate pastry sheets and allow to start defrosting.
– If you want to make party sausage rolls: squeeze inside of 2 sausages down one side of pastry sheet and repeat with 2 sausages on the other half, then cut the pastry in half.
– If you want to make big gourmet looking sausage rolls, squeeze 4-6 sausages on a single sheet of pastry
Paint the edge with egg wash, fold other edge over the filling, press down into shape, continue rolling over filling and overlap with edge that has egg wash.
Cut sausage roll into the portions that you want. Be quick but gentle when cutting so not to squish the pastry too much.
Place into a baking dish with baking paper make sure they aren’t touching.
Brush even thin layer of egg over them.
Optional: sprinkle some sesame seeds over the top.
Into the oven on 180C for 45 mins or until pastry is golden.
